Dr. Anastasia Pargaru BSc., ND
Registered Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine
Anastasia Pargaru successfully completed her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, and is currently registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario regulatory body.
Dr. Ana's goal as a primary health care provider is to educate and empower patients to reach their optimal level of health. She strives to discover and address the root cause of illness, treat the imbalances, and promote good health as a prevention strategy.
Growing up, Anastasia was often exposed to various traditional remedies; from herbal steam inhalations, to poultices for scratches and scrapes. Over the years, her desire to learn about the medicinal uses of plants grew, and so did the curiosity about their toxicity and adverse effects. As such, she enrolled in Bio-Medical Toxicology at the University of Guelph. Through this program she learned about various toxins, both natural and man-made, and their devastating short and long term effects on our fragile bodies. Working at the Public Health Agency of Canada she gathered insight on the acute and chronic effects of common pesticides and insecticides. Dr. Ana also had the opportunity to work at the National Microbiology Laboratory, which exposed her to the world of vaccines and immunology. The complex topic of immunology intrigued her, and so she conducted a research project studying organ transplant tolerance. The more she studied our innate physiological defence mechanism, the more she realised how little modern medicine can offer in supporting it. Pursuing Doctorate studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine allowed Anastasia to find that balance in medicine. She hopes to share this knowledge with her patients.
