Leslie Brown, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Leslie Brown's genuine passion to help people achieve optimum health lead her to a career in Massage Therapy. Leslie graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2010, and has 9 years of experience working as part of health care team in both physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics.
Massage therapy has been proven to reduce stress, increase relaxation, reduce pain and muscular tension, and treat a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions. Headaches, neck and back pain, limited range of motion, and tendinitis (e.g. tennis elbow), are all common conditions treated effectively by massage therapy. Massage therapy can also be used as part of a preventative care program - this includes sports training, injury prevention, ongoing stress management and more! Leslie offers a variety of massage techniques designed to meet each client's individual needs, whether relaxation or therapeutic, to provide these results.
Leslie continues to work with clients of all ages, backgrounds and conditions, but has special interest with a clinical focus on:
• Prenatal treatments - treatment can be effective in all 3 trimesters, with modifications made dependent on the client’s health and symptoms experienced. Leslie’s pregnancy table allows for treatment while lying face down (such a treat!), or sidelying when appropriate. Common complaints during pregnancy treated by massage therapy include: back and hip pain, calf spasms, carpal tunnel syndrome, and headaches. Postnatal in-home visits are also offered.
• Neck/shoulder pain & headaches - treatment of neck, shoulder and TMJ (jaw) muscles due to stress, tension, or overuse can be very effective in reducing neck pain and frequency of headaches.
Her philosophy of care focuses on client education for treatment and prevention, while providing quality client care in a safe and comfortable environment.
