What is Massage Therapy?
Massage Therapy is the hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues and joints of the body for the purpose of assessment and treatment. Specifically, it is the manipulation of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints for the the treatment and prevention of pain and physical dysfunction.
Philosophy of Care
Massage Therapy is based on the premise that physical dysfunction and pain arise from imbalances within the soft tissues of the musculoskeletal system of the body. The goal of Massage Therapy is to develop, maintain or augment physical function. Treatment incorporates a variety of approaches to bring the musculoskeletal system back into balance. Massage Therapy is an effective form of treatment on its own or in conjunction with other forms of therapy.

FAQ's:
Q: Are your services covered by health insurance?
A: Registered Massage Therapy is now covered under most extended health care benefit plans. Be sure to check your policy as you may be able to reclaim the cost of your Massage Therapy, in part or in full, and more effectively manage your options for Natural Health Care.
Q: I am pregnant, is this still safe for me?
A: Prenatal massage can be an essential part of well-being and pain management during your entire pregnancy. There are many physiological and emotional changes that occur beginning in the first few weeks of pregnancy and continuing into the postpartum period after childbirth. As part of your medical history intake, your RMT will ask questions about your health during pregnancy to ensure any treatment modifications are made. Your treatment will then be tailored to your current needs, and will likely change throughout your pregnancy as your body changes. Any questions or concerns specific to treatment during pregnancy are always welcome and should be addressed immediately.
Q: I have really awful pain, can you help me?
A: Registered Massage Therapy is very effective for helping to manage many types of pain, including lower back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, foot pain, knee pain, shoulder pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. Many people find relief from the very first treatment, with increased range of motion and decreased discomfort allowing for a return to every day activities. Combined with Chiropractic Care to correct any possible underlying skeletal issues, our team of fantastic Chiropractors and RMTs will be with you every step of the way on your path to Wellness.
